Renovate and upgrade the Moultrie Building existing occupied main Holding Facility [Detention Center], Arraignment Courtroom and associated functions, and the small Holding Facilities adjacent to each Criminal Courtroom throughout the building
Demolition and reconstruction of new modernized Holding Facilities
New high-technology Arraignment Courtroom
Holding Facilities were renovated to meet the current construction and security standards required by the United States Marshal Service
Structural modifications
New HVAC systems and mechanical ductwork, electrical infrastructure upgrades
Major detention, equipment upgrades, CMU partitions, detention ceiling assemblies, extensive millwork , specialized doors and hardware, structural raised flooring, and upgraded audio visual systems
The main Holding Facility project was programmed, designed, and constructed in seven [7] separate phases as the USMS continuously occupied and utilized the Holding Facility throughout the duration of the project.
The small Holding Facility was constructed in twenty-five [25] separate phases so that the DC Courts could continue to use the adjacent Criminal Courtrooms during the project
